Jessica Chastain: Awards Make Me Vulnerable

Jessica Chastain becomes "vulnerable" when nominated for awards.
The flame-haired beauty recently took home the Best Actress Golden Globe for her role as CIA agent Maya in Kathryn Bigelow's political thriller Zero Dark Thirty and with other potential awards in the pipeline - including an Oscar - she feels "anything" is possible after receiving so much support from family, friends and fans.
"I don't work for awards but when you receive support and encouragement, it opens me up more, it helps me be vulnerable. I think that's why I got so emotional at the Golden Globes - to feel the support I was getting at that moment made me feel like I could do anything," she said.
Since soaring to fame after playing ditzy housewife Celia Foote in 2011's The Help - which she won numerous Best Supporting Actress awards for - Jessica ensures she focuses more on her career and avoids causing any drama in her personal life: "I really made an effort to not put myself in situations where my private life becomes more interesting than my work. Like being seen dancing on a table in a nightclub. I'm not interested in that kind of, er, acknowledgement."

Producer Shocked by ‘Outrageous’ Halle Berry

Halle Berry shocked producer Peter Farrelly when she agreed to stick her breast into a bowl of guacamole for a scene in her new film Movie 43. While Peter was initially worried the 46-year-old actress would think her scenes in the movie were too "outrageous," he was surprised when Halle thought what he had planned was "too soft" and asked to make them even more controversial.
In an interview on website Reddit, he explained, "I would have to say Halle Berry surprised me the most. I was a little nervous about meeting her because her scene is so outrageous, and I was afraid she might get on the set and balk. Not only did she not, but she thought the scene was too soft and asked us to amp it up a little. We ended up coming up with a couple of things for her to do that weren't scripted but were insane,. To give you an example, [her scene] is about a couple, her and Stephen Merchant, who play Truth or Dare on a first date. Among other things, she ended up sticking her bare breast into a bowl of guacamole. She couldn't have been more fun to work with."
However, the actual breasts shown are screen were fake with an insider telling E! News, "They're so huge. You can totally tell they're fake."
Adele to Perform “Skyfall” at the Oscars

Adele will perform "Skyfall" at the Oscars next month. The 24-year-old pop star will perform the theme to the latest James Bond movie during the 85th Academy Awards at the Dolby Theatre in Los Angeles on February 24.
"It's an honor to be nominated and terrifyingly wonderful to be singing in front of people who have captured my imagination over and over again. It's something I've never experienced and probably only ever will once!" the 24 year-old singer said.
The track, which Adele co-wrote with Paul Epworth, has been nominated for Original Song and is the first Bond theme to get an Oscar nod since "For Your Eyes Only" in 1981. It has already seen success, winning the Golden Globe Award for Best Original Song earlier this month.
Craig Zadan and Neil Meron, producers of this year's Academy Awards, hailed Adele's "unique artistry." They said, "She is currently one of the most successful recording artists in the world, and we believe her performance of 'Skyfall' will be an exciting Oscar moment."

Shia LaBeouf Took Acid for ‘Countryman’ Role

Shia LaBeouf took hallucinogenic drugs to understand his role in The Necessary Death of Charlie Countryman.
The 26-year-old actor portrays Charlie Countryman in the hard-hitting movie which sees his character get embroiled with criminal gang while trying to be with the girl of his dreams Gabi Banyai (Evan Rachel Wood). In one scene Charlie is high on acid - otherwise known as LSD - and he was so worried about being able to accurately portray the experience he experimented with the illegal high.
When asked by MTV News if he took acid to get in the right headspace for the movie, Shia replied, "Just 'cause I'm scared. I've never done acid before." Shia made the decision to take the drug after sending tapes of his attempts to convey his character while high to Evan and taking her criticisms on board.
"I remember sending Evan tapes ... trying to conjure this and sending tapes and Evan being like, 'Yeah, that's good, but that's not, but this is, but that ain't.' Not like she's the expert on set. I'm just saying you reach out to friends and you sort of gauge where you're at. So I was sending tapes around. I'd get 50 per cents from people, and that starts creeping me out, and I got really nervous," he explained.

Quentin Tarantino Feels Sorry for Ben Affleck

Quentin Tarantino feels sorry for Ben Affleck.
Both directors missed out on Best Director Oscar nominations on Thursday even though their movies Django Unchained and Argo picked up nods in other categories but Quentin thinks Ben's snub was worse than his.
Speaking at the Django Unchained premiere at London's Empire, Leicester Square, he told BANG Showbiz, "It would have been nice and everything but at the end of the day, I actually feel more sorry for Ben Affleck. He really deserved it and I think we all thought he was going to get it, so I feel really sorry for him."
While, Quentin is excited that his own movie received five Academy Award nominations, he doesn't believe it will win the night's biggest award, Best Picture: "It feels very lovely, it's nice to be invited to the party. It's been a good week. Five Oscar nominations today, five BAFTA nominations yesterday. I don't think it will win Best Picture. But if it did, I will take it for sure."

Lincoln leads the Oscar nominations after being named in 12 categories.
Emma Stone and Seth MacFarlane unveiled the shortlist for this year's Academy Awards earlier today, and the Steven Spielberg-directed biopic - which stars Daniel Day-Lewis as pioneering President Abraham Lincoln - leads the way, followed closely by Life of Pi, which is up for 11 honors.
Both movies are up for the prestigious Best Picture Oscar, but will face competition from Amour, Argo, Beasts of the Southern Wild, Django Unchained, Les Miserables, Silver Livings Playbook and Zero Dark Thirty to take home the statuette.
Lincoln stars Daniel, Sally Field and Tommy Lee Jones are all up for awards, Best Actor, Best Supporting Actress and Best Supporting Actor respectively, while Spielberg is in the running for Best Director.

Selena Gomez and Vanessa Hudgens are on the fast track to shedding their innocent Disney images - starting with Harmony Korine's latest film, Spring Breakers. In the film's latest poster, the pair are joined by their other bikini-clad co-stars Ashley Benson and Rachel Korine (Harmony's wife) while James Franco towers over them with a gun pointing at the viewer.
Spring Breakers hits theaters - appropriately - this Spring.

‘Black Rock’ Trailer: Girl Power, Horror-Style

Kate Bosworth, Lake Bell, and Katie Aselton star in Black Rock as three childhood friends who set aside their issues for a girls' day out. Given that it's a horror/thriller film, the trio naturally picks a secluded island and end up running into three hunters who end up - not surprisingly - wanting to hunt them down.
Directed by Aselton and written by Mark Duplass - actor/writer who typically produces dramedies - the film perhaps would have been more promising if it didn't seem to give away most of the plot in the trailer. Then again, it would also seem like every other horror movie where a small group of friends put themselves in a dangerous location of their own volition, shocked to discovered that it's not deserted.
Black Rock hits theaters on May 13, 2013.
